BMW had a profit of 7.6 billion euros in the first half

The BMW Group reported a profit of 7.6 billion euros, after deliveries in the first half of 2021 reached 1.33 million vehicles, up 39.1% compared to the same period last year.

The financial results published today by BMW indicate a sharp increase in profit for the German group in the first half, from 362 million euros in 2020 to 7.6 billion euros in 2021.

The total income of Bavarians rose by 28.1%, from 43.22 billion euros in the first half of 2020 to 55.36 billion euros in 2021. Of this total, the automotive division achieved 47.74 billion of euro, increasing by 45.3%.

The increase in profit was generated by the substantial increase in vehicle sales. Thus, if in the period January – June 2020 the group delivered 962,545 units, in the first half of 2021 it sent to customers 1,339,047 units. Of the cars sold in 2021, more than 1.1 million belonged to the BMW brand, 157,848 to the MINI brand and 2,989 to the Rolls-Royce brand.

“Our performance benefited from strong customer demand in the first half of the year, allowing us to achieve significant growth.

However, given a number of risks, including commodity prices and a lack of semiconductors, the second six-month period is likely to be more volatile for the BMW Group” said Oliver Zipse, CEO of the BMW Group.
